A little about me

Bonjour! 안녕하세요!

I am Semi, a Korean photographer based in Paris and I have been Photographer here since 2017.

Many people say that, but I really love photos.

We talk about talent, it’s not about trying to get it, it’s about getting it and then working hard on developing it. I believe I have that talent and I am working a lot to improve myself everyday too. You who read this may think that my talent is to take pictures, it is partially true. But I believe my real talent, it is probably the ability to look at the subject lovingly.

I am a person who have a truly sensitive empathy and who stay behind the camera to catch the deep essence and energy of a person. Therefore I capture photos with my gut not my eyes. All my works is a collaboration between the subject and me.

When you look at my works, I hope you will see the energy and personality of the subject like I have seen it. Even only looking at the picture of a couple holding hands, I hope you can feel the history between them.

When people will look at your photos I want that they will feel your emotions and your energy. I want to capture the atmosphere surrounding you.

So working with me has a lot to do with the experience of connecting with another human being. A great photo is the product of our connection, of a magical moment in time. In order to do that, we must first connect. Some connections take time, others happen in an instant.

I can photograph just about anyone, or anything, anywhere, and as soon as we begin talking I begin having visions of how I might capture you. 

I am fluent in English and Korean and improving every day in French. We will be exchanging before the session for me to understand your needs and also would be happy to give you some tips about your trip in Paris.
